BATTLING NELSON AUTOGRAPHED HANDWRITTEN LETTER – ITEM AUBNEL2
Vintage autographed handwritten letter from Battling Nelson which was written on Morrison Hotel, Chicago letterhead on January 2, 1943 and was addressed to Mr. Robert R. Oppel. The contents of the letter speak of former champions that Mr. Oppel would like to have autographs of. Battling Nelson is telling him how Benny Leonard and Jack Dempsey are good people and would be glad to give him an autograph. He also speaks of Ad Wolgast and says that he is confined in an Asylum in Los Angeles. He includes the addresses of Benny Leonard and Ad Wolgast so that Mr. Oppel could write to them personally. This letter has two pages, 1 page is affixed to a piece of cardboard the same size as the letter. Both are in very good condition and has some light staining and rippling. Also some glue residue on back. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from RR Auctions.
